Melissa Sands is a Ph.D. candidate in Government at Harvard University
and a graduate affiliate of the Institute for Quantitative Social
Science.  Prior to attending Harvard she earned an M.P.A. from
Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a
B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She specializes in
causal inference, field experiments, spatial/geographic analysis, and
"civic tech" data sources from cities such as Boston and New York
City. Her research examines the consequences of context on political
